Ferry Boats
Gazi Ma gusa to Mersin ( Turkey ) Overnight ferries can be crowded and booking a cabin is essential.
Girne to Tasucu (Turkey) Slower, larger ferries, also carry cars. There is a faster Catamaran service that only carries passengers. Check locally for details.
Girne to Antalya and Alanya (Turkey) Operate in summer only.
Air Transport
Ercan (pronounced Airjan) airport was re-opened in 2004 after a massive refurbishment bringing the airport up to European standards.
All planes landing at Ercan have to first land in mainland Turkey . In most instances, the passengers remain on the plane. Direct flights to Ercan are not permitted but there is hope of them in the near future. There are only two carriers operating services to the mainland and the UK .
